The construction works on the Cakit hydropower plant started in April 2008. Cakit was one of several projects in the portfolio of Yeşil Enerji which mg游戏官方网站 acquired in June 2009.
mg游戏官方网站 completed the construction works and the power plant started commercial operation in June 2010. Cakit was officially opened on 12 October 2010.
